Principle and function of air quality sensor in air purifier

Update: 2019-09-09 16:43 Source: LUFTMY

Referring to air purifier, from its purchase to use, a large number of online "guides" are searched, the content is mostly uniform, nothing more than to teach users how to buy, how to use. Most of the purifiers are standard, and 99% of the users may neglect the components - air quality sensors represented by PM2.5 sensors.

In the current field of air purification, air quality sensors have almost become standard accessories of purification equipment, whose function is to monitor the concentration of PM2.5 particles in the air. At present, the mainstream sensors in the market are divided into two kinds: infrared particle sensor and laser particle sensor. In terms of working principle, there is little difference between them, but in terms of structure, they are quite different.

Luftmy laser PM2.5 dust sensor module LD07 is a high-precision particle concentration sensor based on MIE scattering theory of laser, which can continuously collect and calculate the number of suspended particles with different particle sizes in the air per unit volume, and then convert it into mass concentration, and output it in the form of universal digital interface. The air quality sensor can be embedded with various instruments or environmental improvement equipment related to the concentration of suspended particulate matter in the air, providing timely and accurate concentration data.

Different designs bring about differences in measurement accuracy. Infrared light-emitting diodes are used as light source for infrared sensors, while more stable laser diodes are used for laser sensors.

In the working process of PM10 sensor, air purification sensor and other sensors, one of the necessary conditions is that the flowing air passes through the intersection area between the light source and the receiver. In order to drive air flow, infrared sensor uses resistance heating mode, using hot air to drive the surrounding air flow; laser sensor has a fixed fan inside.

In addition, infrared sensors use resistance heating to drive the airflow, and the sampling number of particulate matter is less, and the measurement accuracy is slightly inadequate; while laser sensors are driven by fan, the data acquisition is large enough to ensure the accuracy of data to a certain extent.

Luftmy focuses on the research, production and marketing of optical particle sensor technology. In the measurement accuracy, stability, consistency error, anti-interference and other performance indicators are widely praised in the industry.
