Why does the air purification equipment need PM2.5 sensors?

Update: 2020-04-30 14:27 Source: LUFTMY

Air pollution, industrial pollution and other environmental problems are becoming increasingly serious. In recent years, haze weather also frequently appears, which leads to air quality problems that seriously affect people's living experience and health.Plus interior decoration materials, furniture and so on will release some harmful substances, resulting in the decline of indoor air quality.

Why does the air purification equipment need PM2.5 sensors

The problem of air quality is a cause for widespread concern.Air pollution to human health has become the world's common problem, in order to more effectively clean the air, but also people a clean living environment, air purification technology research came into being, and in recent years, rapid development.

Is the purpose of air purification equipment to improve indoor air quality, air purifier, also known as "air cleaner" machine, purifier, fresh air, refers to the adsorption and decomposition or transformation of various air pollutants (generally include PM2.5, dust, pollen, peculiar smell, formaldehyde, decoration pollution, such as bacteria, allergens, etc.), effectively increase the air cleanliness of products, mainly divided into residential, commercial, industrial, building. At present, domestic and commercial air purification equipment is mainly used to clean up indoor air pollution.Air purification equipment can filter airborne particles, bacteria, viruses, fungal spores, pollen, asbestos, radon gas decay products and other pollutants.

Why does the air purification equipment need PM2.5 sensors? In the current air purification field, PM2.5 sensors have almost become the standard components of air purification equipment, whose role is to monitor the concentration of PM2.5 and other particulate matter in the air.

PM2.5 sensor working principle:

The sensor is equipped with a constant light source (such as an infrared light-emitting diode). When air passes through the light, the particles in it will scatter it, resulting in the attenuation of light intensity. Its relative attenuation rate is proportional to the concentration of particulate matter. On the other side opposite the light source is a light detector (such as a phototransistor), which can detect the light reflected by the particles and output a PWM signal (pulse width modulation signal) based on the reflected light intensity to determine the concentration of the particles. For particles with different particle sizes (such as PM10 and PM2.5), they can output a number of different signals to distinguish.

The seemingly simple process involves scattering, reflection, attenuation of light intensity and complex algorithms, which are responsible for the fact that we can visually see the air quality index on the sensor in different colors or in digital form. Here, Luftmy provides the infrared series and laser series of PM2.5 sensors that can be used in air purification equipment.
